Talk to the living, too.

Talk to the living, too.

Here are our friends and colleagues who are normalizing talking to the dead. When choosing a provider to work with, remember these tips:

  • Form your purpose for booking before you start looking for a provider.

  • Follow your natural curiosity and the metadata about providers to choose the right person for you.

  • Reduce urgency around a reading by talking about the issue at hand with trusted confidants.

  • If you are looking for someone to talk to and it is urgent, please refer to the resources listed below the directory for free and immediate support options.

Free and urgent support

Sometimes, we need to connect with someone immediately or in an especially supportive context. There are no crisis or warm lines specifically for people who have experienced anomalous events or are in spiritual crisis. To provide one is a long-term goal for us.

If you feel nervous about talking to healthcare providers about anomalous or spiritual experiences, you’re not alone. The Emergent Phenomenology Research Consortium explains the barriers to receiving care from medical professionals for those who experience anomalous phenomena.

These are all free resources. If you have one that’s not listed, please add let us know so we can include it below.

  • Crisis lines

Also known as lifelines, these services may direct callers to police or other emergency support services to connect them with resources as soon as possible. Text 988 or use the chat feature on the 988 Lifeline website. You can also contact the Crisis Text Line by texting HOME to 741741 at any time.

  • Warm lines

Warmlines offer a trained volunteer to speak with. The national directory for warmlines across the United States is available in multiple languages. Inclusive Therapists can help you find a mental health provider and has a list of community-led warmlines.

  • Support groups

The John Mack Institute has an experiencer group you can join. This is for connecting with others who have experienced non-human intelligence, including UAP and spirit entities.

  • Ministers on call

If you need to speak urgently with someone who understands mediumship, consider contacting your nearest Spiritualist church or Church of the Living Spirit for assistance. Most have on-call, volunteer healers and ministers from their communities who can talk with you.
